This Sunday (8/21/16) in worship we will recognize children who are changing departments at church. Kindergartners who are moving to the elementary department from the preschool department will receive a framed certificate. 2nd graders (who are by now good readers) will receive a special NRSV Children’s Bible and 6th graders will be given an NRSV Youth Study Bible as they matriculate to the youth department with the opening of the new school term!
I’d appreciate an email response if you have a child who has started kindergarten, grade 2 or grade 6….ASAP. Matt and I believe we have a complete list, but we’d feel better if you confirmed with me by tomorrow. I can’t bear to disappoint a child who is part of our church, either because we have not seen them in a while or because there’s an error in our grade-level listing.
If you are a parent who is not sure about a small group for you during the Sunday School hour, I would be HAPPY to help guide you to a group for friendship and learning. Please call me (386-341-8834) if you have questions or if you’d like to contribute fruit or juice for our breakfast this Sunday. You are a blessing to our church and to our children.

To help celebrate the excitement of a fresh beginning we are serving pancakes in the children’s department for our children and youth THIS Sunday at 9:00 a.m. There will still be time for a lesson, beginning at 9:30, so be sure to plan now to come early so your kids can enjoy the delicious food and fun before Sunday School time.
