Jim and Joyce Page were honored today with the Edge Award for their lifelong contributions to education, counseling and the life of the Christian community. The award was presented by Ray Johnson on behalf of the Florida Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
The Edge Award is named for Findley & Lovenia Edge, former members of College Park Baptist Church in Orlando. Edge was professor of Christian Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY from 1947-87. He loved the local church and looked for way to strengthen it through education. He was a leader in the church renewal movement of the 1970’s encouraging churches to find empowerment and the spirit of Christ through retreats and small groups. Edge was a popular writer and teacher. Findley and Lovenia’s home was always open to students for a warm meal or words of encouragement.
