Family and friends of Stan Rawls gathered at Central Baptist Church Camp near Deland, Florida on Saturday afternoon, April 30 to remember good times there with Stan and spread his ashes in a place he loved. It was an afternoon of delicious bar-b-que prepared by Phil Ransbottom, scrapbooks of camp photos, and good conversation. Mary Anne Jackson Trumbull read a poem honoring Stan. Charles Rawls, Stan’s younger brother, “threw Stan in the lake.” Stan died of colon cancer in Monroe, GA on April 23, 2016 following a two year illness. He was a native of Daytona Beach and graduate of Seabreeze High School. Stan’s passion was photography and technology, so it’s fitting to post these images of a loving family’s happy sendoff for a beloved son.
